My dear friend
What is it that you know
and I know not
You are happy doing what you do
Running wagging your tail
Chasing butterflies along a trail
Playing with your friends
Jumping up for a biscuit
Content chewing on a bone
So faithful to your friend
Come what may
What is it that you know
Can you tell me my friend
The joy you find
In doing things that you do
I cannot fathom how
But maybe I can learn
With you by my side
As a constant reminder
That life is great fun
When you want it to be
I have so much to learn
