Cut My Ties

Cut My Ties is a poem in response to a video prompt presented in OctPoWriMo 2015 - 31 Poems in 31 Days Challenge - Day 2 See the video here Cut my ties with earth Set my spirits free Let me close my eyes This is not where I want to be You left me standing here Alone in my path Now I know not where to go We have never lived apart Cut my ties with earth Set my spirits free Let me close my eyes Next time I want to meet you in a place Where you want to be

The Balloon

The balloon Twisting and turning Caught up in a race Trying to beat the wind With childish spite The balloon twists and turns Not willing to give up Full of itself The balloon Huffs and puffs Haughtily laughing at the wind Rising again and again Not willing to give up The balloon dances with glee Shaking its tail Steadily rising above Mocking the wind Suddenly the wind Blows with all its might All that is heard Is a pop Eerie silence And the whistle of the wind Shattered dreams Gone with the wind Lost in the dark Image credit - pixabay In Response to Poets and Story Tellers United #25 Well That Was Unexpected Hosted by Rommy

Like a Dream

OctPoWriMo 2015 - Day 11 Poetry Prompt for the day - Sing Out Your Success. I never thought I could. I had my own doubts and I thought I never would. But here I am having succeeded in what I set out to do. For most of my life I never believed that I could For most of my life I never really understood Why it had to be this way While sitting behind a wheel My thoughts would go astray Impending doom Was all l could ever think of At times I wondered Would I be the cause Of a precious life lost I never believed that I could Never ever believed that I would Miracles happen I do believe Now I drive my car like a dream Linking back to OctPoWRiMo - 2015

Catch Me If You Can

This is a poem expressing the nature of things that slip by in a second. We know that we can never catch them even if we try We still keep trying with hope - Catch me if you can Slip sliding sand Catch me if you can Wind slipping through your hand Catch me if you can Fleeting thoughts that you want to keep Catch me if you can Hail stones that melt and seep Catch me if you can Raindrops falling down Catch me if you can The lightning speed of sound Catch me if you can Words spoken out loud Catch me if you can Echoes floating around Catch me if you can You know you really can't Why you keep trying I simply don't understand Catch me if you can With your two hands Catch me if you can Can you really? Kaleidoscope-Seeking Light

This is a poem about how lights reflect at various angles, bursting into glorious hues. It bounces off at various angles, giving way to interesting shapes and patterns as it twists and turns in a kaleidoscope. Life has its ups and downs, twists and turns with twisting patterns. But finally, we will see the light at the end of the tunnel reaching our destination. Memories

Image Credit Memories , a poem in response to Day-6 OCtPoWriMo 2015 - 31 Poems in 31 Days challenge. The challenge today is to write a poem talking about colors and the memories attached to them. Playtime I run off to join my friends The green green grass Soft beneath my feet Chasing butterflies on the way I run as fast as I could To play games and have fun We made up games at times Games that sometimes made no sense But still, we would fiercely compete In the hope of winning When we had done playing games It was off to climbing trees The smell of red ripe fruits Drawing us towards them We climbed Like little monkeys Swinging from branch to branch Seeking for the ripest of golden red apples We would pluck as much as we could And stash them away in our secret hiding place After we were done with all the plucking We ran off into the garden Admiring the colourful roses Pink, yellow a...
