Haiku about Winter

winter white snow

cold chilling winter

water turned to blocks of ice

stilling lakes and streams

wind cold relentless 

freezing every plant and tree

landscape frozen white

haughty falling snow
piling fast on tree branches
forcing them to bow

winter queen rules all
earth cold and weak surrenders
slowly suffocates
