| Answers in prayers-a prayer said |
Into the darkness I leap
Between yesterday and today
Figuring out the what and why
Reasons why we are alive
The causes and reasons blur
And I doze between bouts of sleep
As the flashing lights blind my eyes
The rhyme and reasons slip by me
As to the questions what and why
I reason out with a clever trick
Delving into sacred scriptures
Building answers brick by brick
Plodding on through written words
Words carved into rocks and stones
Reading between the lines to seek
The reason why we are skin and bones
As I ponder the mystery of life
My eyes give in to blissful sleep
I know somehow my answers lie
In the prayers, often my lips shall say
This is a poem about wondering why we are here on Earth. Prayers can answer our questions about what and why.
