The poetry prompt for this week given by poetsonthepage is to write a poem from the perspective of the bunny or from the perspective of humans watching a bunny.
When I look at a bunny rushing, jumping, covering distances in haste this is what comes to my mind -
Swift
The bunny hops
Light
Footprints made on earth
Here
One minute
Gone
In the next few seconds
Rushing
From here to there
Then
From there to here
Not knowing
Where and why
Speed
Seems to be the point
Resting
For a couple of minutes
Then
Rushing
Off to another place
Not knowing where to go
Hopping
Light
Footprints made on earth
Here
One minute
Gone
In the next few seconds
Rushing
From here to there
Then
From there to here
Not knowing
Where and why
Speed
Seems to be the point
Resting
For a couple of minutes
Then
Rushing
Off to another place
Not knowing where to go
Hopping
Sometimes high
Sometimes low
Always
In a haste
In a haste
Restless
Looking
Here and there
Wondering
What is going to jump out
What is going to scare
Eyes peeled
Looking
For opportunities that will fetch
A mouthful of grass
Replenished
To begin
All over again
In haste
Here and there
Wondering
What is going to jump out
What is going to scare
Eyes peeled
Looking
For opportunities that will fetch
A mouthful of grass
Replenished
To begin
All over again
In haste
We live life in a hurry, rushing past moments chasing after goals but in the rush we miss out on the precious moments, and later we wonder, was it all worth it.
A good reminder to slow down and enjoy the moments, from the view of the rabbit xx
